NFL; Tampa Bay Buccaneers lock horns with New England Patriots, Green Bay Packers in form

The NFL provided plenty of thrills and spills last weekend. In this preview, we will look ahead to three games — New England Patriots v Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Arizona Cardinals v Los Angeles Rams, and Green Bay Packers v Pittsburgh Steelers. We will also check in on the latest match odds.

New England Patriots reeling after defeat to New Orleans Saints

The Patriots were left reeling after a bruising defeat to the Saints last weekend. From the first quarter, the Patriots were playing catch up, and they never really got into the game. Perhaps what was most significant, was James White’s injury, which saw him hauled off. It had a big impact on the offensive unit, and the Patriots were forced into a tactical change.

Bolden had three carries for less than a yard, and three catches on four targets for 23 yards. But losing White — who has missed just five games in eight years for the Patriots — was a big blow. Although it is unclear yet about the extent of the injury, it is feared that he could be out for the rest of the season.

Tom Brady to make dramatic return to face New England Patriots

Tom Brady will be reunited with familiar faces when he faces the Patriots this weekend. Like the Patriots, the Bucs will be looking to bounce back after a 34-24 defeat to the Los Angeles Rams last weekend. However, the biggest concern at present for the Bucs, from a defensive point of view, has been the lack of sacks.

Arizona Cardinals ready for top-of-the-table clash with Los Angeles Rams

Something will have to give this weekend. Both the Cardinals and the Rams boast impeccable records this season (3-0-0), and this clash has the ingredients to be a classic. The Cardinals are coming off the back of a 31-19 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars, and they looked electric, so the Rams have been warned.

Arizona Cardinals cornerback Byron Murphy glad to see his game “slowing down”

Cardinals star Byron Murphy seems to be into the full swing of things in the NFL. The cornerback is playing in his third full season in the NFL, and Murphy feels like he has more time on the field to weigh up his decisions. He said: “I would say for me kind of everything is slowing down, and I’m seeing the details a little faster.”

Los Angeles Rams in good shape after victory over Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Against the Bucs, the Rams came flying out of the traps as they roared to a 34-24 win. In the first quarter, the Rams were 14-7 up, and they never looked back. Matthew Stafford stole the headlines with a virtuoso display, as he completed 27 of 38 passes for 343 yards.

Aside from Stafford, the rushers and receivers stepped up to the mark. Sony Michel made 20 carries for 67 yards, while Cooper Kupp had nine catches and contributed two touchdowns. Rams coach Sean McVay now has a 40-0 record when his side is leading at half-time.

As things stand, the Rams looked well placed to finish on top of the NFC West pack. As far as this game goes, the Rams may have the slight edge and Stafford has looked unstoppable in the first few weeks. If the Cardinals can keep it tight in the first and second quarters, then they may be able to pinch a win.

Green Bay Packers getting big backing to continue winning streak

The Packers’ opening weekend defeat may well feel like a lifetime ago. Since then, they have taken hold of the NFC North with two wins on the bounce, including a tight 30-28 victory over the San Francisco 49ers last weekend. Currently, you can get a price of -278 with Casumo for the Packers to beat the Pittsburgh Steelers this weekend.

The Steelers are in a spot of bother. Their first four games have brought just a solitary win, and they are currently bottom of the AFC North. Things need to turn for the Steelers soon, but they have the small matter of trying to contain Aaron Rodgers first.
