Impressively, they had one of the best teams in their qualifying group, Portugal, and were able to top the table nevertheless. Austria is also one of the lower-ranked teams in this group. In the run-up to Euro 2020, during the qualifiers, they had some rather inconsistent form. In a group consisting of several underdogs, North Macedonia is emphatically at the bottom of the pile. In fact, this team is at a low 40/1 just to get out of the group. But, that doesn’t mean they can’t pull off an upset. In fact, they’ve been one of the biggest surprises in the tournament, recently beating Germany, the best victory this country has had. It’s likely that the team will bring this same determination and resilience to the tournament as well. With this high level of positivity, it’s possible that North Macedonia can beat any of these group C teams and head out of the group to the next stage. However, they’re still bottom of the list when it comes to winning the tournament with odds of 500/1.
Tipster’s Angle: A clean sweep for the Netherlands?
Without a doubt, this is one of the more fun groups to watch. And that’s because so many of the teams are evenly matched. As a starting point, the title-winning Netherlands are finally back, and with a point to prove. The rest of the teams may look like outsiders, but this is where the fun starts. Nothing here is predictable with both Austria and Ukraine relatively equal in form as well as having had great winning streaks ahead of the tournament. In fact, this means that there are some challenges ahead for all teams involved. Finally, there’s North Macedonia who are looking to make a statement in their first-ever Euro tournament. With their star player, Goran Pandev, in the twilight of his career, they’ll be looking to go out with a bang.
