However, this year, there’s even more excitement, as there are more strong contenders than usual for the title. Group D, in particular, is considered to be one of the most competitive groups. Each of the four teams will fight to reach the top. What makes this group stand out is that it contains England, one of the top favourites to win. However, it’s not going to be a walkover. World Cup 2018 finalists, Croatia, are also in this group, ready to make it difficult for the English.

England is the biggest favourites to win Euro 2020, with odds of 11/2 at Casumo for them taking that top spot. This is hardly a surprise though, as English football is home to some of the best players and leagues in the world. Funnily enough, despite having a collection of impressive players, the England team has never managed to come together cohesively to consistently win. While not quite in top form like England, Croatia are, nevertheless, the side to beat in this group. Similar to the England team, Croatia are coming into the group off a run of excellent form and high-quality gameplay. On top of that, the players in the team are highly motivated — for many, this will be the end of their pro careers. Top players such as Luka Modric, with Euro 2020 golden boot odds at 80/1, Ivan Rakitic and Domagoj Viga are all in their thirties, making another Euro tournament unlikely. With the level of skill and determination shown by this team over the years, this is likely to count heavily in their favour for reaching the top of Group D.
Scotland Betting Tips and Odds
Without a doubt, Scotland is the underdog in this group. In fact, they are one of the few teams that only just scraped their way into qualifying for Euro 2020. But, that doesn’t mean they should be totally written off as they have shown they have grit and determination in order to get this far. However, facing off against two of the top teams in the tournament from the outset isn’t likely to do them any favours. Still, they could pull a surprise out of the bag as they do have some top players to unleash. Scott Mckenna and Kieran Tierney are joined by Manchester United’s Scott McTominay. Despite this, it’s unlikely they will make it out of the group, and they are priced at a long 300/1 to win overall.
Czech Republic Betting Tips and Odds
Alongside Scotland in the underdog position are the Czech Republic. However, they’re faring significantly better, priced at a more reasonable 150/1 to win Euro 2020. This team has worked hard to get where they are today. They deserve a lot of respect for this as they aim to show the world what they can do. If the top two teams let down their guard, the Czech Republic will make them pay for it, which is why the two favourites will want to watch out. There are a lot of household names in this Czech team too. The likes of keeper Tomas Vaclik and fullbacks Jan Boril and Vladimir Coufal will help keep things moving. Additionally, there are midfield players such as Tomas Soucek and striker Patrik Schick to keep an eye on.
Tipster’s Angle: Does England have this in the bag?
With two of the best teams in Europe going head-to-head from the outset, Group D is going to be fun to watch. However, both of the underdogs are also strong competitors with Scotland and the Czech Republic priced at 13/1 and 9/1, respectively, to take the group. That being said, if England can hold it together, theirs is the team to beat and at 4/9 to top the group, their position looks fairly unassailable. Better yet for England, their opening game is against Croatia and at home, giving them a significant edge over the rest of the teams. Croatia could cause an upset though, but it will take a bit more work in the long run. Overall, it looks likely that England will walk away with this one.
