Euro 2020 Group F Betting Tips

Euro 2020 is looking to be quite an impressive event this year. Unlike previous years, this year all the teams are on much more equal footing. This means that, for once, this is not such a predictable event. Instead, there are now more teams than ever before who might actually get a shot at the top spot. And this is most evident in the final group of Euro 2020, Group F. Part of what makes this group stand out from the rest is that there’s not one, but three of the top 10 teams for this year’s Euro title. With Germany, Portugal and France all in the same group, anything goes. Just one slip up from any of these teams will cost them the group and the subsequent chance of a title. Our in-depth Euro 2020 betting tips for Group F cover all the possibilities in the Group of Death, but with such giants all stuffed in one group, predicting outcomes becomes all the more tricky.

Portugal Betting Tips and Odds

Portugal, as is the case most years, is one of the top contenders for the title. Currently sitting at 8/1, this team always offers excitement when they hit the field. And that’s not least because golden boy Cristiano Ronaldo is back again. In fact, he could well be their lucky charm, after all, he’s still out to get yet another trophy. But one player doesn’t make a team. Thankfully, Portugal has a whole slew of quality players in the form of Diogo Jota, Joao Felix, Bernardo Silva and Bruno Fernandes. This is also the winning team from Euro 2016 so the defending champs will be looking to get a second consecutive win in this event. With the pressure rising, this team is likely to rise to the challenge too.

France Betting Tips and Odds

Despite being in a group with Portugal, France are actually the favourites to win the competition this year, even beating out England at 5/1. The French team is in particularly fine form, with many proclaiming this the golden era of French football. They’ve proved time and time again that they’re the best team in the world, but this is not a team to rest on their laurels. Having lost in the final in Euro 2016 to Portugal, this team will be back with a vengeance, eager to knock Portugal out in the group stages. Out of their last ten games, they’ve had just one loss and are looking to capitalise on this. With top players such as Kylian Mbappe who stands at 7/1 for the Euro 2020 golden boot, Antoine Greizmann and Paul Pogba, this looks like a hard team to beat.

Germany Betting Tips and Odds

Germany, until recently, was one of the strongest football teams out there. However, the team has suffered a run of bad luck with some rather unstable form in recent months. The team has surprisingly had some heavy losses losing to both Spain and North Macedonia in the run-up to Euro 2020. To put that in perspective, North Macedonia are the biggest underdogs in the entire competition! Despite that, the team is at 9/1 to win the tournament, just one place below Portugal. The team’s mentality is very strong, however, and it’s likely this will not cause them to falter. Alongside that, there’s a stellar team including Serge Gnbary, Leon Goretzka and Leroy Sane who are all ready to put in the hard graft to see Germany make it through the group stages.

Hungary Betting Tips and Odds

Hungary is the big underdog here. Despite the rather prestigious teams that are also in this group, Hungary still should not be overlooked. In the previous Euro, Hungary finally made their way back into the upper leagues after a 44-year absence. Not only did they make a comeback, but they also qualified for the knockouts. While they haven’t been one of the stronger teams in this championship for a while, it looks like their old form is slowly returning. On top of that, being overlooked by current top teams may well work to their advantage as they will capitalise on any mistakes made by the other teams. Let’s not forget that they have a stellar goalie in Peter Gulacsi. That being said, they’re still rank outsiders for the title at 500/1.

Tipster’s Angle: Who will stay and who will go?

Group F is a pretty tough one to call as there are very small margins of error at play here. With three top teams, one will have to go and whichever it is will still cause a major upset. Hungary has drawn the short straw here and is unlikely to get much of a look in as this group plays out, even with that home advantage. Germany is the weakest of the top three, but this might be alleviated somewhat by having a home game advantage. In fact, it could be Portugal that drops out of this one as France is in fine form and Germany has a point to prove. It really is a tough call in this one, and that’s part of what makes this group the most fun.
