Sharing Insights: Safer Gambling Week at Casumo

Safer Gambling Week at Casumo: 1-7 November 2021

Here at Casumo, the wellbeing of our players always comes first. And we don’t say that just to say it, we genuinely care. We’ve got a great team of people with expertise in Responsible Gaming working behind the scenes, providing help to whomever needs it. Of course this requires ongoing training and in light of Safer Gambling Week, we would like to share some of the in-house activities that were set up to help promote the importance of Responsible Gaming.

  1. All c-level managers, heads of departments, and operational staff (Ambassadors, Player Protection, Payment/Risk/Fraud/ Loyalty/Sportsbook) received an online RG training from Amber Gaming;
  2. All Ambassadors, the VIP team, and the Player Protection Team received online suicide prevention training in a gaming environment from GamCare;
  3. Meet the experts! We launched an “RG Expert” team within the Ambassador team;
  4. We hosted RG Facts & Trivia with daily prizes and game-worn Tom Holmes Reading FC jersey as the grand prize;
  5. A little something sweet to close off the week: Casumo Cares and Play Okay branded cakes for all staff.

Safer Gambling Week gave us an opportunity to put safe gambling front of mind and highlight the efforts behind the social impact of our business for a week, however, it’s an effort and commitment we take year-round.

RG training from Amber Gaming

As a company, one of our core beliefs is that playing at Casumo should be something positive and entertaining. But sometimes it can be hard to control how much you want to play and you end up spending more than what you originally planned for or losing track of time while you’re playing. The RG training from Amber Gaming has helped us understand what problem gambling is and the various warning signs of problem gambling behaviour.

In light of the UK regulations surrounding social responsibility, we talked about what constitutes a good social responsibility framework, which measures are required to be implemented by operators to protect its players and the consequences of problem gambling- for operator and player, and of course how we can best help problem gamblers.

Suicide prevention training from GamCare

There is growing evidence of an association between gambling harm and suicide. Forming an integral part of the iGaming industry, there is a small chance that our Casumo staff may need to support someone who is experiencing suicidal thoughts and feelings. Of course it’s of the utmost importance that we understand how to respond appropriately. The GamCare course has helped us to: recognise the signs of crisis and suicidality in customers, understand how to best provide basic emotional support, signpost players to further help when needed whilst also manage our own emotional health when dealing with such challenging player interactions

This training has been developed by GamCare and Samaritans, the leading suicide prevention charity, and is funded by the Gambling Commission.

Introducing: Our RG experts

Within our Ambassador Team we now have designated RG experts dedicated to issues and increasing awareness around responsible gaming. Here’s what they have to say about RG at Casumo:

Diana, RG Expert on the Ambassador Team

“With my 3 years of experience in the ambassador team, I have very much noticed the positive impact our RG team and tools have on our players, and I look forward to broadening my knowledge and skill, and sharing it with my teammates!”

Carolina, RG Expert on the Ambassador Team

“I’m very interested in learning more about the procedures already implemented in the company to protect our players, understanding how these procedures are being built, and assisting in helping our players to feel safe and comfortable while playing in Casumo.”

…And the winner is!

Here we have Dwight Ramenaden, RG Officer at Casumo, holding the grand prize from the RG trivia competition before shipping it off to WINNER Kemil Cholakov. For his efforts, Kemil won a game-worn Tom Holmes Reading FC jersey. Way to know your RG facts, Kemil!

Please always remember: When you play, Play Okay

Responsible Gaming: Setting Play Okay limits

With just a few clicks, you can set limits on your Casumo account to ensure your gambling is always within control when you play at our casino. Because everyone budgets a bit differently, we offer several options for setting limits. You can choose just one, or a combination of multiple limits. It’s entirely up to you, but know that we are available to advise and help you get those limits set up.

Logged-in time limit

Limit how many hours you can be logged-in to your account daily. Once you reach your limit, you will be automatically logged out and any gameplay is paused or completed in the background. It will take 24 hours to be able to increase or revoke your limit after the request has been made.

Login time block

Set a specific time block covering all days of the week during which you will not be able to log in to your account. The start and end time of this limit will be calculated according to the time zone you are in when activating it. It will take 24 hours to be able to shorten or revoke your time-slot after the request has been made.

Deposit limit

A deposit limit will limit the amount you can deposit during a certain period of time. Once you have reached this sum you will not be able to make any new deposits until your limit has reset.

Loss limit

A loss limit will limit the possible amount of net losses you can make based on bets minus wins during a certain time period. When you have reached this sum, you will not be able to place any new bets until your limit has reset.

Wager limit

A wager limit will limit the total amount you can bet, or wager, during a certain period. When you have reached this sum, you will not be able to place any new bets until your limit has reset.

We’d like to refer to our https://casumocares.com/ website for more information about our Play Okay tools and some useful safe gambling tips. Here you can also fill out a self-assessment to learn about your gambling habits and learn more about recognising the signs of risk and should gambling ever start having a negative impact on your life, where to reach out to get professional help for yourself, or someone you know who’s struggling with gambling related issues.

How to play responsibly at Casumo

Finally, we’d also like to share some tips on how you can embrace Responsible Gaming right from the start of your online casino adventures. As mentioned earlier, all we want is for your experience to be fun and entertaining, nothing more, nothing less:

  1. Set up your account at www.casumo.com
  2. Take a look at the tools we have available (those we mentioned above) and get familiar with them.
  3. Ask as many questions as you want! Our caring and well-trained team is there to answer any question you might have.
  4. If you’re looking to set up any of the Play Okay limits, go ahead and get in touch so we can help you set it up or you can set a limit that best suits you through our playokay settings page. Once you set a limit that’s right for you, it’s best to stick with it. That’s it, you’re all set! Now go and have fun playing your favourite casino games (responsibly) at Casumo and when you play, Play Okay!
