El Clasico Betting Preview

The worst “Clásico” of the last decade will be played on Saturday

Do you remember when in a Barça v Madrid game we used to see the likes of Xavi, Cristiano, Iniesta, Di Maria, Puyol, Xabi Alonso and so on? Well, in Saturday’s Clasico we will have to settle for seeing players like Vinicius or Trincao, who haven’t lived up to the hype at all! Saturday’s Clásico may not go down as the best in history, but a Clásico is always a Clásico so here are our juicy tips.

Both teams are in bad shape

Normally, checking the standings before El Clasico, one would see either Real or Barca in top spot, followed by the other. After six gameweeks, however, Real Madrid are third and Barça ninth (Go on, double check in a new tab). Right now the two teams are as disappointing as the last Game of Thrones season and with this in mind, it wouldn’t surprise us if the game is more boring than my LinkedIn feed.

New kids on the block

Ansu Fati and Vinicius are undoubtedly the stars of the future for both teams. In the case of Ansu Fati, he is on fire. The boy is only 17 years old, he already plays for La Roja and is almost always a starter under Ronald Koeman. I don’t know about you, but at 17 the only thing I played was PlayStation. And what can we say about Vinicius? Many laugh at him because they say he misses more than a fairground shotgun but the reality is that in the last Clásico he embarrassed Piqué en route to a great goal.

Vinicius to scores 4.30 or 11/10

The GOAT factor

We’re not going to debate who the GOAT is. If you have eyes, brain cells and time to see his best highlights on YouTube, you too will come to the conclusion that Messi is the best. When he is on the pitch, anything can happen. Okay, lately it seems that his head is elsewhere (Manchester perhaps?), but we just want to remind you that in 43 Clasicos played, Messi has scored 26. We’re sure he’ll give Marcelo more nightmares than after watching a horror movie marathon on Halloween, with the lights off.

Get Messi to score first at or 4.8 or 19/5

Defensive nightmares

As we have already mentioned, the two box office teams are playing worse than me FIFA 21 in a 2am lockdown session (we’ve all been there). The defences are definitely to blame as they are softer than an ice cream in the  peak of a Catalan summer.

Of course, lucky for the neutrals, this often means goals are guaranteed!

Get over 3.5 goals in El Clasico at 2.75 or 7/4
