Brazil vs Argentina Betting Tips

Brazil and Argentina are playing each other on the 6th of September 2021 at 00:15 IST in the Maracana, Brazil. The most historic rivalry is all set to revive yet again for the second time this year after the epic Copa final. The world will be split again by these footballing giants into two with this game.

Brazil Form and Team News

Brazil have a terrific record in the qualification matches. They have played seven games so far and on all seven occasions they have managed to be on the winning side. So naturally, they have 21 points in the kitty as of now. They have netted the most goals in the tournament so far and also conceded the least as well. Brazil are on the back of a terrific gold medal triumph beating Spain in the final. They are now facing the toughest qualification opponent in Argentina. The two share unarguably the legacy that no other team can boast of. Brazil lost against the blues in the battle last time around in the final of the Copa America earlier this year.

Coach Tite has shown some terrific strategies in the tournament so far and he is all set to continue doing the same. Several of the World’s most influential club footballers ply their trade for the Brazilian national team and this set consists of Neymar, Firmino, Jesus, Dani Alves, Casemiro, Thiago Silva and co. These players know what it is to play against this Argentine side and would hope to rectify whatever they did wrong during the last game where both of these sides met.

 Argentina Form and Team News

Argentina have been scratchy to say in this tournament nonetheless. They have not been able to showcase the brand of football they would have hoped for. Although they have been unbeaten in this tournament so far after seven games played as of now, they have drawn quite a few games as well which shows the inconsistency. They have won four games and drawn the rest of the matches. Argentina are in the middle of brilliant 21 match unbeaten streak to go with a seven match winning streak coming into this match against an upbeat Brazilian side. They managed to win in the Maracana last time around, but cannot be complacent by any means.

Lionel Scaloni has been intrumental in guiding this team full of youngsters and his influence is prevalent in the side’s performances off late. Lionel Messi had a lacklustre game against Venezuela by his standards. Lautaro Martinez is showing flashes of brilliance and that is a good sign for the side while Rodrigo De Paul is also a force in the middle of the park. The defence if manages to have a good game, we can expect Brazil to face a similar result this time around as well.

Our Tipster’s Angle

There is not much to separate these two sides in terms of numbers and stats, almost everything has been neck to neck. The current form is also quite magnificent for both sides, one can argue that Brazil went to win the gold in the olympics which was the last biggest event. Argentina too had won the Copa before that. Brazil can be deemed favourites here just because of the reason that, they have been splendid in this tournament so far while Argentina has been found wanting on some occasions.

Tip 1: Total Goals under 2.5

Brazil have not been part of many high-scoring matches off-late. All of their last five games have seen the total goal count to be under 2.5. Playing as the host across competitions like in this case, Brazil have had three of their last five games where they seen under 2.5 goals in total. Argentina on the other hand have also been involved in similar matches off-late. Five of the last nine matches Argentina have played have had the above satisfied. While playing as the away side like in this case, one of their last three matches also had the total goals to be under 2.5. Argentina could really come out all guns blazing on Monday and prove us all wrong. Brazil if stretched could bring in another dimension of their game as well, But with the stats, it’s quite likely this match could well have under 2.5 goals in total. The odds for total goals to be under 2.5 according to the Casumo Sportsbook is 1.60.

Tip 2: Both teams not to score

All four of the last four matches played by Brazil across competitions have had both teams not scoring. While playing as the host, their last two matches too had the condition being satisfied. Two of the last four matches that Argentina was part of had the above condition being satisfied. All six of the last six head to head matches between these two footballing giants have also had the above condition satisfied. While playing with the Brazilians as the host, all five of their last five head to head matches has also had both teams not scoring. The Brazilians have in the last three games managed to not concede goals while Argentina have also been defensively tight so far and only a good attacking side will be able to break them down, the defence might as well be the telling factor on the big stage, you never know, so it’s most likely both teams might not end up scoring. The odds for Both Teams not to score according to the Casumo Sportsbook is 1.79.

Conclusion

The Maracana will again host the biggest sporting spectacle that the world awaits for the second time in just over a couple of months. We will wait and watch as to what unfolds this time around. Summarising on a couple of bets from above:

  1.     Total goals under 2.5 @ 1.60
  2.     Both teams not to score @ 1.79
