England vs Denmark Betting Tips – Euro 2020 Semi Final Betting Tips

England are hosting Denmark in the Wembley Stadium in London, England on the 8th of July 2021 at 00:30 IST. England have at their hands a mouth-watering prospect of playing the semifinals and finals at home given they win here, while Denmark have truly inspired us all with their brand of football over the course of this tournament. This match has a lot more layers added to it other than just the results.

England Form and Team News

England steamrolled Ukraine en route to their comprehensive victory by not one or two but four goals to nil in a very much one-sided competition. England also beat Germany last week for a historic win but cannot be complacent from here on. They still got to keep the intensity up and try to win the competition eventually. England continued to display their scratchy form in the third game of the group game as well just managing to win against the Czech Republic by a goal to nil. England have been lackluster even in the group stage playing too defensively in the process, they had to procure a dull draw against Scotland in the second game. England in the first game against Croatia was pretty dominant from start to end and ended up winning it by a solitary goal. England have not won any big tournaments in the recent past and this could be their best chance to rewrite that record. They are facing the spirited Denmark side on Wednesday for a place in the final at their home on Sunday.

Coach Gareth Southgate has had a stellar start to his coaching career over the years with the national team and is looking all set to translate that into winning more trophies which considering the team he has at his disposal is not a tough thing to do. The defense did what was asked of them in the last game with everyone contributing to the best of their ability to not let the opposition score. Captain Kane netted two goals while defender Harry Maguire and Henderson also managed to shake the netting in the game against Ukraine, England have been tremendous in set-pieces situations and would hope they can carry forward the momentum into the last two games as well.

Denmark Form and Team News

Denmark are relieving the 1992 fairytale all over again after they won against fellow underdogs in the Czech Republic in the quarterfinals thus managing to set up a cracking semifinal against the English in their own den on Wednesday. They beat last years semifinalists Wales in commanding fashion in the pre-quarters beating them by four goals to nil. They have produced one of the most dominating displays of football in the knockouts so far with that win. They qualified for the knockouts beating Russia. They won the last game by a thumping four to one goal margin and finished as the second-best team to only Belgium in the group. Denmark against the Belgians in the second game were leading for quite a while until the arrival of Kevin De Bruyne who completely turned around the complexion of the game and in turn, won it for them. Denmark showed remarkable spirit during the first game even during times of turmoil. They lost the game by a solitary goal to Finland.

Kasper Hjulmand is the coach of the Denmark national football team and has been quite magnificent with his antics, the strategies and decisions he is making all reflecting on a good on-field performance from the team. The attack line needs to continue to be clinical while finishing as they did in the last match. The midfield and defense are doing their job quite decently and just the ability to get the ball into the net more is all that Denmark needs to win games. Christian Erikson is likely to miss out owing to the unfortunate incident in the first game.

Our Tipster’s Angle

England are the favorites to win this tie as per the odds, and even if we go with the head to head record, England are ahead there as well. Also in terms of recent record, England holds the aces. England have been quite outstanding in this tournament while Denmark have been emotionally and physically battered throughout the tournament and still have managed to reach thus far showing that even numbers can’t write the script sometimes, they still can have a say in this match.

Tip 1: Goals in both halves

All three of Denmark’s last four games have seen goals being scored in both halves of play. This was played across the EURO. While playing away in the above competition, all three of their last three matches have also seen goals in both halves as well. The head to head matches between the two sides have not been the case where the above is fulfilled, but the form both teams are carrying nowadays is different and this game could well have goals available in plenty. The England side on the other hand have had the above condition satisfied in the last game as well. So England could well be involved in a similar situation in the next match wherein there will be goals in both halves. According to the Casumo Sportsbook, the odds for that is 1.93.

Tip 2: Total Goals under by Denmark over 0.5

England have not been stretched to the extent Denmark have been and this match could well be that type of scenario for the English in their home territory. The last time when the two sides met at Wembley, England finished with an embarrassing defeat to go with two red cards as well. Denmark scored over 0.5 goals in that match. Denmark have had nine games in the last ten where their goal count was over 0.5. Playing as the away side across competitions, all five of Denmark’s last five games have also seen over 0.5 goals in total. All of their last three games in this tournament have seen the Danes scoring over 0.5 goals as well, so it’s quite likely Denmark could well score over 0.5 goals in this match. The odds for Denmark’s total goals to be over 0.5 according to the Casumo Sportsbook is 1.78.

Conclusion

The Three Lions would’ve already started to dream of a final at Wembley but what stands in between is a side which has seen it all and has a nothing to lose attitude written all over it, The Danes if they can press the English and score early could as well keep a lid on the free-flowing play of the English. Summarising on a couple of bets from above:

  1. Goals in both halves @ 1.93
  2. Denmark Total Goals over 0.5 @ 1.78
