England vs India Fourth Test – Betting Tips

England will face India in the fourth Test of the five-match series at the Kennington Oval in London on Thursday.

The series is nicely poised at 1-1 after the visitors clinched the second game by 151 runs whereas the home team made a grand comeback in the third fixture where they went on to win by an innings and 76 runs.

Both managements will be hoping to see their players put their best performance on display and help the team in securing a lead.

Both teams have faced off 13 times at the venue in the five-day format where the home team have a far superior record with five wins compared to visitors’ solitary victory.

England Form and Team news:

After producing a thumping performance in the third Test, England are unlikely to make too many changes in the starting XI for the fourth game of the series.

However, the management will be still concerned about the team’s batting performance where captain Joe Root continues to share most of the burden.

The home side has received a major boost as star all-rounder Chris Woakes has been included in the squad and he is expected to be included in the playing XI straight away.

In the batting department, the hosts will be heavily relying on the likes of captain Root, young opening batsman Haseeb Hameed, left-handed batsman Rory Burns and left-hander Dawid Malan to score the bulk of the runs.

Middle-order batsman Ollie Pope might make his way back in the lineup in place of either Jos Buttler and Jonny Bairstow, both of whom have struggled with the bat in hand.

In the bowling department, the onus will be on the likes of veteran pacer James Anderson, Woakes, third Test’s player-of-the-match Ollie Robinson, Craig Overton along with off-spinner Moeen Ali to produce timely breakthroughs.

India Form and Team News:

After suffering a humiliating defeat in the third Test, India are likely to make some changes in the starting XI.

The management’s biggest concern will be the batting lineup performance in the previous fixture where they were dismissed for just 78 in the first innings.

Veteran off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin might be included in the lineup in place of all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja, who has not been as effective with the ball in hand.

In the batting department, the visitors will be heavily relying on the likes of captain Virat Kohli, vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane, veteran Cheteshwar Pujara, openers KL Rahul, Rohit Sharma and wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant to score the bulk of the runs and give the bowlers something to bowl with.

On the bowling front, the onus will be on the likes of pacers Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammad Siraj, Mohammad Shami, Ishant Sharma and off-spinner Ashwin to dismantle the home team’s batting lineup.
