Granada vs Real Madrid Betting Tips

Granada are hosting Real Madrid at the Estadio Nuevo Los Carmenes in Granada on the 14th of May 2021 Friday at 01:30 IST. Real Madrid can still hope for retaining the title after the draw against Sevilla given a few results go their way while Granada will try to replicate their Barca heroics from a couple of weeks ago to spoil Real’s party.

Granada Form & Team News

Granada are the 10th placed team in La Liga this season with 45 points from 35 games. They have won 13 games while losing as many as 16 games this season. They have also drawn six games. They have not managed to win in the last two games after that famous win against much-fancied rivals Barcelona beating them from a goal behind to win the fixture 2-1 and add fuel to the already twist-filled points table. Their home record is comparatively decent as well with nine wins coming from 17 games played so far. They need to pull up their socks and try to repeat the Barca heroics yet again against Real Madrid on Friday to make the points table even more interesting and given a win would mean an end to Real Madrid’s hope to retain the title this season.

Soldado is on a red card and is probably likely to miss out on the next game. Kenedy and Vallejo are also out injured while the likes of Neva and Luis Mila are having hamstring injuries and Lozano had a skull fracture and is out until Mid May at least. Soldado being the top goal-scorer missing out is a huge blow. Molena, Marchis and Suarez will be expected to cover up for Soldado nonetheless. Puertas and Machis are the leading players in terms of assists provided this season and they might prove to be the difference between a Granada win and a Granada loss in the next game.

Real Madrid Form & Team News

Real Madrid are placed second in the La Liga this season. They have played 35 games out of which 22 have ended with Real Madrid winning. They have lost four games and drawn nine games in the process. They have secured 75 points so far just two points from leaders Atletico Madrid who sit at the top with 77 points. Real Madrid are back to their best being on the losing side in only one of the last 10 matches which also includes four matches winning and five draws. Real Madrid with the experience and the youth have all the resources covered to go all the way from here on with nothing less than the La Liga title win to top it off. They are also on the back of a draining draw against Sevilla which could have ended up as Real Madrid losing but a last-minute own deflection proved to be lucky for Zidane’s men.

Mendy, Vazquez, Raphael Varane, Danny Carvajal and captain Sergio Ramos are set to miss the Classico with injuries. Zidane would be ruing the fact that all five players missing out are their core players and filling their voids is going to be a tedious task for the Frenchman. Karim Benzema is the top goal scorer for Real Madrid this season with as many 21 strikes inside the goal this season so far. Toni Kroos has been sensational in the midfield as well contributing ten assists this season. The void left by the talismanic Ramos has been filled somewhat by young guns Eder Militao and Nacho.

Our Tipster’s Angle

Real Madrid looks like the favourites to win this match given the league form is very much superior to that of Granada. Real Madrid have had quite a lot of games where they have dropped points recently which has put their title defence in tantrums while Granada can take heart from the fact that they were able to beat the mighty Barcelona leading into this game and if they can repeat such a feat against Real Madrid, then its surely curtains for the other half of the El-Classico rivals.

Tip 1: Total Goals over 2.5

Four of the last five matches that Granada have played across competitions have had the total goals to be over 2.5. While playing at home, Granada have had two of their last four matches where the total goals have been over 2.5. In La Liga, Granada have five of the last six matches where the condition was satisfied. In the case of Real Madrid, one of the last two matches played across competitions, have had the total goals to be over 2.5. Playing in the La Liga, two of their last four games have also had the total goals to be over 2.5. Out of their last six head to head matches in La Liga, five matches had the total goals to be over 2.5. So it’s quite likely the match will have over 2.5 goals. According to the Casumo Sportsbook, the odds for the total goals to be over 2.5 is 1.66.

Tip 2: Both teams to score

In the last five matches played by Granada across competitions, four of those have had both teams to score. While playing at home, one of the last two matches Granada have played across competitions have had both teams scoring. In La Liga, Granada had five of the last six matches where both teams have scored. Two of the last four matches Real Madrid have been part of have had the above condition being satisfied. Playing in La Liga, this season, the last match Real Madrid was part of has turned out to have both teams scoring. Five of the last six head to head match between the two sides also had yielded the condition as mentioned above, so it’s most likely both teams might not end up scoring. The odds for Both Teams to not score according to the Casumo Sportsbook is 1.93.

Real Madrid after the draining draw against Sevilla will have to now hope that Barca and Athletico Madrid drop points in order for them to retain the title while Granada surely have the arsenal to upstage as they did against fellow Catalan rivals Barca a couple of weeks ago. Summarising on a couple of bets from above:

  1. Total Goals over 2.5 @1.66
  2. Both teams to score @ 1.93
