In the Qualification rounds, Portugal were part of Group B and finished as the second-best team in the group with Ukraine managing to finish first. After the eight games played, Portugal won five while losing one and drawing the two other games. They were clinical in the campaign but let slip one game which in turn made them second in the group. Portugal are favourites to win the cup this time with the sort of team they have. Fernando Santos as coach of the Portugal national football team has been there through the transition phases while also guiding them to the coveted EURO title in 2016. He has seen enough of this team and knows in and out of the players to make decisions that will have to start showing effect sooner than later. Rui Patricio was the unsung hero of that Final game in 2016, he is expected to keep goals this season as well. In defence, they have Cancelo, Semedo, Dias and Pepe who could be the potential men covering the area. Bruno, Bernado Silva, Sanches, Neves and Guedes are in the midfield. The current Champions are favorites to win this match given their superior head to head record against Hungary where they are yet to lose a match in any of the competitions. Portugal has won as many as six games playing against Hungary while drawing one game. Hungary would need to pick up their game to win this and open their account in terms of wins in all competitions.
