West Indies vs England – 2nd T20I Betting Tips

West Indies will face England in the second T20I of the five-match series at the Kensington Oval in Bridgetown, Barbados on Sunday.

After registering a comfortable nine-wicket win in the first T20I, West Indies will enter the second fixture with high confidence and they are unlikely to make any changes in the playing XI.

After suffering a thumping defeat in the series opener at the same venue a day earlier, England will enter the second T20I with low confidence and they might opt to make a few changes in the starting XI as well.

The home team are 1-0 up after winning the first fixture by nine wickets on Saturday.

West Indies Form and Team News:

The management will be hoping to see the players produce a similar performance at the same venue on Sunday which would strengthen the Caribbean giants’ chances of winning the series against the current world number one side in the 20-over format.

In the batting department, the home team will be heavily relying on the likes of in-form opener Brandon King, wicketkeeper-batter Shai Hope, veteran left-hander Darren Bravo, captain Kieron Pollard, vice-captain Nicholas Pooran and all-rounders Jason Holder, Fabian Allen to score the bulk of the runs and put the opposition under pressure.

On the bowling front, the onus will be on the likes of pacers Sheldon Cottrell, Holder, Romario Shepherd, Odean Smith along with the spin duo of Akeal Hosein, Allen to claim timely breakthroughs and restrict the visitors.

England Form and Team News:

The management will be extremely disappointed with the batting performance on Saturday where none of the batters took charge and showed any sort of responsibility.

Even though captain Eoin Morgan scored 17 runs and was one of the four batters from the England team to score in double figures, the form of the left-hander will remain a major concern for the coaching staff going forward.

Morgan has not scored a half-century in T20Is for England in the last 17 innings and is only averaging 16.21, which is just not good enough.

In the batting department, the visitors will be heavily relying on the likes of veteran opener Jason Roy, stylish James Vince, wicketkeeper-batter Sam Billings, Tom Banton, Moeen Ali and Morgan to score the bulk of the runs and give the bowlers something to bowl with.

In the bowling department, the onus will be on the likes of pacers Saqib Mahmood, Chris Jordan, Tymal Mills along with the spin trio of Adil Rashid, Liam Dawson and Ali to dismantle the home team’s batting lineup by claiming timely breakthroughs.

Our Tipster’s Angle

Host West Indies stunned England in the first T20I where they just proved too good for the opposition who clearly had no answers.

Despite that result, on paper at least, England look a far formidable unit compared to the Caribbean giants who are still in a transitional phase and they are likely to find it hard to have any sort of consistency in their performances.

Therefore, the prediction is for the Morgan-led unit to secure a win and level the five-match series at 1-1.

Tip 1: Jason Holder to continue his good form with the ball in hand

Former West Indies captain put in a splendid bowling performance for West Indies in the opening game of the T20I series against England. Given his outstanding performance with the ball in hand in the series opener, we expect pacer Jason Holder to take one wicket or more against [email protected]

Tip 2: Eoin Morgan to break his run drought in the t20 format

Since his half-century against Pakistan at Manchester in August 2020, England captain Eoin Morgan will need to break his run drought in the T20 format. Left-hander will be looking to lead from the front with the bat. Given his outstanding performances in the past, we can expect Captain Eoin Morgan to score 20 runs or more against West [email protected]

Conclusion

Expect England to beat the West Indies and level the five-match T20I series.

  • Pacer Jason Holder to take one wicket or more against England- West [email protected]
  • Captain Eoin Morgan to score 20 runs or more against West Indies- England @3.00
