Euro 2020 Group B Betting Tips

With Euro 2020 postponed to 2021, it’s given us all time to consider all the teams in detail. What’s really standing out for this year’s event though, is just how competitive it’s going to be. While there are some clear standouts, there are a lot of teams that can make waves in this tournament. And none more so than in Group B. This year, Group B is composed of Denmark, Finland, Belgium and Russia. Each of these teams is in pretty good form, which means we’re very likely to have some quality games. With each team looking to prove a point this could be a very tough call. However, that being said, Belgium are the clear favourites here, it’s a case of which team will run in second.

Belgium Betting Tips and Odds

Belgium are arguably the best national team in this group. In fact, they’re one of the top teams in the world currently sitting pretty at the top of the FIFA world rankings. This impressive team not only includes some of Belgium’s top players but also some of the best players in modern times. Key players in the team include Kevin de Bruyne, Romelu Lukaku and more aggressive players such as Christian Benteke and Dries Mertens. Not only is this team packed with talent, but it’s got depth too. This is likely to see it go far. Indeed, Romelu Lukaku is already highly favoured as the top goalscorer in the tournament. In fact, Belgium are not only favourites to top the group at 3/4, but also to win the entire tournament at 6/1.

Denmark Betting Tips and Odds

Right after Belgium comes Denmark. This team is another big favourite in the group thanks to their recent run of success. In fact, they’ve won their last three outings in impressive style showcased by their fierce attack and total of 14 goals across those three matches. Not only that, but their defence is on point too — they didn’t concede a single goal across those three games either. Interestingly, the only loss this side has had in their last ten games was against Belgium. With this rivalry in the offing, it looks to be a fun match up ahead. Christian Eriksen is the one to watch. With him in full form, Denmark are 2/1 to take that top spot in the group from Belgium. They’re also 25/1 to win the tournament.

Finland Betting Tips and Odds

The Finns are the biggest underdogs in the group, but it’s possible they could pull a surprise out of the bag. With football being so unpredictable, there’s a chance for them to do the impossible. Like many of the other teams here, Finland have a strong team to back them. Some key players include the captain, Tim Sparv, as well as Joona Toivio and, of course, the impressive Teemu Pukki who has been a stellar striker in the Premier League. That being said, the chances of them coming top of this pool are slim, reflected in their 33/1 odds. With both Denmark and Belgium in top form, Finland will have to work hard to knock them off the top spots. Currently, they’re one of the rank outsiders for the tournament at 300/1.

Russia Betting Tips and Odds

Like Finland, Russia have been somewhat of a surprise this tournament. They’ve had a run of decent form in recent matches making them deserving of their position at this year’s Euros. They may have lost their last outing against Slovakia, but nevertheless, this is a team coming into the group that’s fully prepared to go the whole way. They’re also priced significantly better than fellow Group B team, Finland, sitting at 11/2 to progress and 100/1 to win the tournament. However, getting out of the group is the issue and with the two stronger teams, this will make for interesting matches. Of course, they’re playing Belgium at home, which could count for something. Additionally, unleashing young talent, Aleksandr Golovin in attacking midfield, could be the spark needed to get through opposition defences.

Tipster’s Angle: Who can topple Belgium?

Despite the presence of Belgium, Group B is still an interesting group to watch and that’s because there’s a high level of competitiveness here. Added to that, Belgium will not be playing any home games for the entire round, which could severely impact their game. Of course, Belgium are still favourites for the group, but both Denmark and Russia make for strong contenders coming very close when the various strengths found within the teams are taken into consideration. Finland could pull something out of the bag too, but that will be a much harder job. At the end of the day, Belgium are strong favourites for a reason and still the most likely pick to come top. Denmark, with Eriksen in full flow, could be the team to take that away though.
