Southgate sacked after Euro 2020 exit

History repeats itself, England crash out and  Southgate is sacked

History has a nasty habit of repeating itself. The Round of 16 exit to Iceland in Euro 2016 still hurts and it looks like Euro 2020 will see another early exit by the Three Lions.

We run a  supercomputer study which revealed that England would be defeated in the round of 16 – in six separate simulations. On each of those six occasions, Southgate was almost immediately relieved of his duties.

A first knockout round exit is always a bitter pill to swallow, particularly when it happens in back to back tournaments. The long wait for a major trophy continues for England and the search for a new manager starts now.

Despite being the second-favourites to win the tournament at odds of 11/2, it’s fair to say that football isn’t coming home, after all. Elsewhere, the same study reported that leading favourites France will be crowned champions – and are good value at a price of 5/1

Our super computer looked at a heap of data, including fixtures, form, ages, squads, past encounters and more to simulate the Euros to give you the best information while you make your choices.
