Our predicted Euro 2020 Team of the Tournament: The midfielders

With the squads being announced as we edge closer to Euro 2020 fans across the continent are getting excited. Fantasy teams are being drafted and we ran a supercomputer to simulate the Team of the Tournament. Here are our midfield maestros. 

Managers can now select 26-man squads for this summer’s edition, and we’ll help you pick your main 11. 

We’ve already shown you that Gianluigi Donnarumma, Giovanni Di Lorenzo, Raphaël Varane, Benjamin Pavard and José Gayà will make up the back line. Now, let’s take a look at the midfielders that will join them in the Team of the Tournament. 

Nicolò Barella – Italy

Nicolò Barella is the third Italian to feature in our Euro 2020 Dream Team. The 24-year-old midfielder was an integral part in Inter Milan winning their first Serie A scudetto in a decade and he’ll be just as important for Italy as Roberto Mancini’s in-form side make it to the final. 

Koke – Spain

Having conquered La Liga title with Atlético Madrid, Koke is another midfielder riding the crest of a wave heading into the Euros and he’s tipped to have a fantastic competition. He’s at the peak of his powers so expect pin-point passes, assists and even some goals from the 29-year-old. 

Raheem Sterling – England

You can’t leave this man out. Raheem Sterling has been crucial to this England side for years now and the 26-year-old Manchester City player is tipped to be one of the Three Lions’ star performers this year. It’s actually crazy to think he’s still just 26! Sterling failed to score at the 2018 World Cup in Russia but despite that our supercomputer has predicted him to find the net three times in Euro 2020.
