UEFA Champions League

Champions League betting

One of the only advantages the unpredictable situation gave sports fans is that this year, for the very first time in history, the UEFA Champions League has been forced into a new format: a glorious mini-tournament at the end of the domestic campaigns, and we can’t wait for kick-off!

As the European leagues check off their final fixtures, the remaining giants in the Champions League will face off in a summer tournament, which kicks off on the 7th of August.

Fans will be treated to 11 key fixtures, climaxing in the Champions League final on the 23rd August at Estadio do Sport Lisboa e Benfica, Lisbon, Portugal.

New Champions League format

With Euro 2020 being postponed to next year, this new format gives us a taste of summer football, and we can’t wait for the drama to unfold. Casumo will be on top of the game as usual, offering competitive Champions League betting odds in hundreds of markets across the matches. You can pick outright winners, top scorers and also bet on each game individually. Every game will be broken down further with odds being offered on everything. Pick your first goalscorer, half time score, full-time score and enjoy many more options. We’ve also got you covered for the Europa League too.

The beauty of the knockout phases is that nothing is predictable. Dreamers Atalanta and Napoli might be this year’s dark horses while record 13-time winners Real Madrid are still hanging on against a hungry Manchester City, spearheaded by a familiar foe in Pep Guardiola.

Holders Liverpool, who made everyone dream last season, are out. The disciplined Atletico Madrid are hoping to head to Lisbon for their first Champions League final since 2016. Diego Simeone’s outfit takes on RB Leipzig, who dazzled in the group stage and stunned Spurs in Round of 16.

Neymar’s Paris march on to the Quarter Finals where they face Atalanta as their search for glory intensifies.

Due to the fixture layout, we still have some key Round of 16 matches to enjoy:

  • Juventus v Lyon – where Lyon take a precious 1-0 lead.
  • Man City v Real Madrid – with City leading 2-1 after a Bernabeu masterclass.
  • Bayern v Chelsea – which is always a treat, Bayern leading 3-0.
  • Barcelona v Napoli – finely balanced at 1-1.

The Quarter Finals

  1. Atalanta v Paris
  2. RB Leipzig v Atletico Madrid
  3. Barcelona v Bayern Munich
  4. Manchester City v Lyon

The Semi-Finals

  1. Leipzig v Paris Saint-Germain
  2. Manchester City/Lyon v Barcelona/Bayern Munich

The Champions League Final

23rd August: winner of Semi-Final 1 v winner of Semi-Final 2

The Champions League has been lit this season, with an average of 3.19 goals per game. We’ve been spoiled by witnessing 344 goals so far and Bayern Munich’s Robert Lewandowski has hit the high notes with 11 goals of those. He’s the top scorer this season, but Borussia Dortmund’s Erling Braut Haaland, the 19-year-old. Is hot on his heels with 10 goals.

12 teams remain, but only one Captain can wrap his fingers around the famous ears of that beautiful Champions League trophy. Will we see a new team take charge, or can the usual suspects pounce to glory? Check out www.casumo.com for all our odds, and enjoy our in-play feature of live betting too.
