From rainbow nets to trickshots, last season was a blast!

For the past two exciting seasons, Casumo have adorned the front of the famous blue and white Reading FC shirts… and we’ve loved every minute of it. The near-misses have kept us on the edge of our seats while goals have launched us from them.he daily excitement of being involved with such a wonderful team has been a highlight for our company.


It’s a highlight which we look forward to keeping bright, as we are delighted to announce that we have extended our partnership with the Royals. Our focus shifts from the front of your shirts to a wider focus which includes Reading FC’s wonderful women’s team and other aspects of the club… and the good news is our fun social media content continues!


We view our sponsorship of Reading as significant and we’ve enjoyed interacting with Reading fans so much we don’t want the fun to stop. From introducing the first rainbow nets to Halloween jumps and Christmas trickshots, last season was a blast! Here’s a little jog down memory lane as we run down what has been a brilliant season for Reading FC and Casumo.

Fresh out the box

We blasted into the new season with a new manager, Veljko Paunovic and having him on board was essential to our first idea. Remember, this season started without fans in the stadium, so we wanted to reach out and see how the fans were feeling. Little did they know a grinning Pauno would hijack the call. That wasn’t all as he also gave them home and away kits, freshly launched by the club. Kudos Pauno!

Halloween prank

Those emotions are exactly what this beautiful game is to us at Casumo, and Halloween gave us another opportunity to interact with Reading.


This time we took the focus to the players, the ones that fans miss seeing playing on a weekly basis. We conducted interviews with key players, with a little spark. Casumo know the importance of team morale and high spirits, so we pranked the players with a little friendly scare for Halloween. Having open-minded team players is essential for engaging content and we are grateful for the players’ good vibes. 

Rainbow Laces Week

Casumo know inclusion is everything in life and we wanted to drive our point home during an influential week for the Championship. 

This year it wasn’t just about just rainbow laces. In a league/FA first Casumo helped Reading to change the goals at the Madejskfor the home game against Nottingham Forest, with gorgeous rainbow  nets. 


The equally gorgeous home shirt also had a rainbow touch as we switched up our own logo   too;  Morro was clearly over the rainbow to love score in it!

And we did more


We pledged to make the boots special as each Reading FC pass and goal triggered donations to LGBTQ charities in the UK and Malta. 


Football can really make a huge difference to society, and with Reading FC winning the game 2-0 we donated over £5,000. 


We can’t wait to hang those goal nets up again next season too.


The messages we received to support this initiative were heart warming and we are grateful to Reading as they kept an open mind while we proposed significant changes to the matchday. A nod of appreciation also goes to the EFL too for approving our wonderful newnets. 

December trickshots


December is always fun! We wanted to showcase the very brilliance of our Reading footballers by setting them challenges which we would then broadcast on social media. We had:


  • The impossible double crossbar challenge, which Sone Aluko executed brilliantly, 
  • The Accuracy test where we saw Josh Laurent excel
  • The Christmas giveaway which triggered gifts for our fans


Perhaps the most brilliant aspect came accidentally as Lucas Joao had to be corrected for using his phone while filming…



Reading FC’s Super Bowl franchise


As Super Bowl fever gripped the sporting world, we thought it would be fun to create an American Football team for Reading FC. Welcome the Reading Lions to the fold, a star-studded team consisting of Reading’s finest football players.


We conducted research based on which players we felt would suit the NFL most and cross compared their stats and physical attributes to 2021’s best NFL Quarterbacks. Move over Tom Brady, there’s a new sheriff in town.


This was particularly interesting as we love football stats and were impressed by just how well the likes of Rafa Cabral, Michael Morrison and Lucas Joao were performing week in week out.

We got romantic for Valentine’s Day


The 14th February is a good chance to spread some love and we tried to do this in a simple way by offering a unique gift set as a prize on twitter. Fans could win luxury chocolates (yummy), a scarf to keep warm and a home shirt.


All they had to do was guess how many lines Rafa Cabral’s goalie kit had…


We loved the responses to this, counting those lines must have been quite the task!

What if Casumo did Cheltenham?

Cheltenham is a huge event in the sporting calendar and  typically, Casumo wanted to put their own spin on the spectacle. We created races which gave the opportunity for fans to predict which horse would cross the finish line first. The twist? We had Reading players as our racers, and of course Paunovic too!


The prizes were beloved Reading kits and we loved the feedback on the races.

April Fools prank – sorry not sorry!


We still can’t get over the reactions to this. We played the ultimate prank on the fans by releasing a brand new Reading FC kit, with a difference. With the help of Macron, we decided to add a new element to the blue and white hoops – a touch of pink was added to test the waters and the only problem was that the fans actually loved the kit!

Back to your seats


This season has been extremely upsetting as fans have been kept away from their beloved stadiums around the country. The Madejski just didn’t feel right and the home support was sorely missed. As Sir Matt Busby said “football is nothing without the fans” and that statement hits us close to the heart in these strange and unprecedented times.


We wanted to give fans behind the scenes access to their favourite place, their shrine, their home away from home. Our video took fans back to where they belong, their seats, and with a little help from Paunovic, we managed to show you some areas of the stadium that are often hidden from the public.
