Putting points on the board the priority for Reading

Three points from four is not a healthy return for Reading and Paunovic pointed out that the Coventry defeat was indeed an important point dropped on the road.

Losing a game in the last second is never easy. It’s tough, it’s bitter, it’s emotional and still raw. The Coventry game showed signs of improvements and Reading were unbeaten against Huddersfield last season.

The sides played out a 2-2 draw after Reading managed a good 2-1 victory away last season and in this division, you can’t keep your heads down for too long.

The goals are coming for Reading who have indeed scored in every Championship game this season so we back them to be on the scoresheet again. Tightening the defence will be the order of the day, but critically the players will need to move on fast from that late, sickening 98th minute blow at Coventry.

The last two defeats came from late goals, so the players need to keep their focus and manage the final moments of the game a little more sharply to turn those defeats to points earned rather than points dropped. The foundations are there, the overall displays are energetic, organised and show a strong togetherness, so the points will come soon for the Royals.

An away draw would be a good point, so you can get a 1-1 scoreline at 21/4 or 6.25

… while a repeat scoreline from last season, Huddersfield 1-2 Reading is also priced at 9/1 or 10.00
