Reading rally as they look to recover v Coventry

A slow start for Reading eventually cost them against Bristol on Tuesday night and the lads now need to regroup for a tricky away test against Coventry.

Paunovic is eyeing improvements at both ends of the pitch as Reading look to improve on a faulty start to the Championship.

As Reading were trailing to Bristol on Tuesday night, Coventry came away from Blackpool with a clean sheet and all the points. That victory pushed them up to fourth spot, though the league table is deceptive so early on.

Reading’s main issue is that the away form has been a problem. The Royals are without a win in seven on the road, and last season Coventry was not a happy hunting ground.

At the SCL, Reading thrashed Coventry 3-0, but will need to improve significantly for a repeat scoreline. Indeed, Coventry have not lost to Reading in their last three home encounters.

A good finish to the game against Bristol saw Reading go to 2-3, and we’ll never know what would have happened if there was more time. Perhaps some of that momentum can go into making a stronger, brighter start to the game at Coventry.

68%  possession against Bristol is impressive, so if things tighten up at the back, Reading will be able to get a tighter grip on their opponents this Saturday.
