Guyana Amazon Warriors vs Jamaica Tallawahs – CPL 2021 – Match 29 Betting Tips

Guyana Amazon Warriors will face Jamaica Tallawahs in the match 29 of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2021 at the Warner Park, Basseterre in St Kitts on Sunday.

The match might prove to be a do-or-die one for both oppositions for a spot in the playoffs.

As things stand, the Warriors have 10 points after nine matches played whereas the Tallawahs are just two behind with eight points.

Jamaica’s side have an advantage over their rivals in terms of net run-rate and therefore, a win will be enough for them to secure a spot in the playoffs.

On the other hand, Guyana might still qualify for the next round in case of defeat but for that to happen, they will have to hope that St Lucia Kings will lose their final match against Barbados Royals.

In the meeting between the teams earlier in the competition, which was on Saturday at the same venue, Nicholas Pooran’s brilliant half-century was enough for the side to secure a big 46-run win, which put them on the third position of the league table.

Guyana Amazon Warriors Form and Team news:

After securing a win against the same opposition a day earlier, Guyana Amazon Warriors are unlikely to make any significant change in the playing XI for their final first-round match.

The team is being considerably weaken after the departure of in-form veteran all-rounder Mohammad Hafeez who was asked to return by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) in a bid to prepare for the upcoming series against New Zealand.

In his absence, there will be added pressure on Hafeez’s countryman Shoaib Malik, who has failed to live up to the expectations till now after managing to score just 61 runs in eight innings at a disappointing average of 8.71.

The team management will be hoping that the 39-year-old will return to form at the right time and produce the goods at the back end of the competition.

In the batting department, the Warriors will be relying on the likes of in-form captain Pooran, Malik, stylish left-hander Shimron Hetmyer and explosive opening batter Brandon King to score bulk of the runs and give the bowlers something to bowl with.

On the bowling front, the onus will be on the likes of pacers Naveen-ul-Haq, Romario Shepherd, Odean Smith along with the spin duo of Imran Tahir and Malik to produce timely breakthroughs.

Jamaica Tallawahs Form and Team News:

Despite suffering a thrashing defeat in the match on Saturday, Jamaica Tallawahs are unlikely to make any significant change in the playing XI.

In the batting department, the team will be relying on the likes of Rovman Powell, young Haider Ali and explosive all-rounder Andre Russell, Carlos Brathwaite to score bulk of the runs.

On the bowling front, the onus will be on the likes of pacers Migael Pretorius, Russell, Brathwaite along with the spin duo of Imad Wasim and Chris Green to produce timely breakthroughs.
